More Teaser Pictures Released and Comeback Performance Announced

More teaser pictures for Girls’ Generation’s third album, “The Boys”, have been released.  Today’s teasers are Jessica, Sooyoung and Tiffany.
In keeping with the lighter theme of yesterday’s teasers, Jessica resembles a heavenly fairy in the clouds wearing a flowing white dress.

The final teaser picture today is none other than Tiffany, and she looks magical laying among shiny disco balls.  Netizens have commented that she looks like Ariel from “The Little Mermaid”.
SM Entertainment also revealed today that Girls’ Generation will have their first comeback performance on October 7th on KBS “Music Bank”.
With only Yuri, Yoona and Seohyun left to reveal their teaser pictures, Girls’ Generation’s comeback is already drawing a lot of anticipation.  Stay tuned to Soshified for the latest info.

Every year Men’s magazine, FHM, ranks the 100 sexiest women in the world.  In this year’s Singapore edition of the magazine, the nine goddesses of Girls’ Generation came in at 66th place.  The ranking improved dramatically from last year, jumping up 33 spots from 99th place.  Girls’ Generation is becoming more and more well known outside of Korea, and of course it’s hard not to notice how beautiful they are.  Perhaps they only rank the group as one spot because it would be unfair to everyone else if they took up nine spots on the list.

The first script reading was held for director Yoon Sukho and writer Oh Sooyeon’s new drama “Love Rain”. The main actors and actresses Jang Geunsuk, Yoona from Girls’ Generation, Kim Sihoo, Son Eunseo, Hwang Bora, and Seo Inguk, were chosen recently and were all present at the script reading.
Director Yoon Sukho, writer Oh Sooyeon, as well as all of the actors and actresses were present at Yoon’s Club, the production company behind “Love Rain”, for the first script reading. Director Yoon Sukho did not miss a single thing and led the reading with detailed directing. Jang Geunsuk, Yoona, and the other actors acted as if they were actually filming.
Yoona stated, “It was a bit burdensome that the two of us have such conflicting personalities (Editor’s note: Yoona is referring to herself and Jang Geunsuk’s characters), but after working with the director, writer, and other actors, I feel a little more confident. I will do my best with a learning heart.”
The casting of Jang Geunsuk, Girls’ Generation’s Yoona, and Kim Sihoo increased fans’ anticipation. “Love Rain” will start filming in September and is scheduled to air at the beginning of 2012.

Taeyeon, Tiffany, Yuri, and Seohyun Appear on KBS’s “Big Brothers”

Girls’ Generation members Taeyeon, Tiffany, Yuri, and Seohyun recently appeared on the first episode of KBS’s new talk show “Big Brothers”. While on the show, the girls discussed a wide variety of topics, revealed some fascinating stories, and displayed some unusual talents. The highlights of the episode have been summarized below.

Taeyeon Says She Doesn’t Want Her Children to Inherit Her Voice
Before the actual “talk show” portion started, the hosts interviewed the girls as if they were coming in for a job. They asked various questions before turning to Taeyeon and asking, “What is something you would want to inherit from your parents, and what is something you want to pass onto your kids?”
Taeyeon said she wanted to inherit the ability to make decisions from her parents, but paused when thinking of what to pass on to her children. Yuri and the other members kept saying, “Your voice,” but Taeyeon said no. She surprised both her members and the MCs, adding, “If they inherit my voice, they’re going to want to become singers.” Instead, Taeyeon said she wants her children to inherit her white skin.

Seohyun Discusses Her Close Relationship With a Past SM Trainee
When Seohyun first joined SM Entertainment as a trainee, she was the youngest one there and said that she found it difficult to fit in. She rarely talked, and one day another trainee named Hwanhee joined SM Entertainment. They became friends, and Seohyun surprised other company members and workers because she was actually talking to someone. They trained together for five years along with other Girls’ Generation members: eating, sleeping, and practicing together. Hwanhee even participated in a showcase with the other members. Because of this, Seohyun and Hwanhee were both sure they’d be in the same group.
But when it was decided who would officially be in Girls’ Generation, Hwanhee’s name wasn’t called. Seohyun couldn’t bring herself to contact Hwanhee afterwards. After the Girls’ Generation members were chosen, Seohyun had become a trainee preparing for her debut, while Hwanhee was still just a regular trainee. Because Seohyun had to go to the company building to practice, running into Hwanhee was inevitable. When they did actually run into one another, Seohyun was so sorry that she couldn’t even look at Hwanhee. However, Hwanhee took Seohyun’s hands and walked into the restroom. Hwanhee looked at Seohyun and just started crying, and they cried together.
Seohyun revealed that Hwanhee is now studying to be an actress, that they both respect the other’s dreams, and that they have promised to cheer each other on.

Girls’ Generation Says Recent Dating Rumors are False
Taeyeon, Tiffany, Yuri, and Seohyun confirmed that the recent reports that “less than half of the Girls’ Generation members are dating” are false. They said it’s not the right time for them to date, and that they know they would get stressed out if they began dating. The MCs, since they are older, told the girls that it’s different to date at a young age than it is to date when you’re older, and suggested that the girls shouldn’t be missing out. One of the MCs said that they’re only called “Girls’ Generation” and that they are more like “Grandma Generation”. Tiffany added that they’ve wanted to become successful singers for such a long time that they are willing to wait to start dating.

Tiffany and Sunny Revealed to be the Best Drinkers in Girls’ Generation
At one point, the MCs asked the members of Girls’ Generation how they celebrate together. The girls said that they have small celebratory parties with each other, at which point the MCs asked which members are the best drinkers. Taeyeon, Yuri, and Seohyun all pointed Tiffany, indicating her as the best drinker. Tiffany didn’t want to be singled out, and said that Sunny is also one of the better drinkers within the group.

Taeyeon and Tiffany Discuss an Argument They Had During Their Japan Tour
During Girls’ Generation’s recent Japan concert tour, Taeyeon found herself unable to stomach the foreign food very well and kept feeling indigestion. While walking around Taeyeon said, “I think I have an upset stomach.” Then suddenly, Tiffany, who was next to her, said, “Hey, don’t say stuff like that. I think I’ll start feeling sick if I hear you say that.” Tiffany said she was a bit sensitive and on edge at the time because she wasn’t fully awake, and that she said it a bit harshly. Taeyeon was thinking, “I’m not feeling well, how could she say that to another member?” and replied, “Do you think I’m sick because I want to be?” After returning to their hotel rooms, Taeyeon kept remembering what Tiffany said. So Taeyeon went up to Tiffany and said, “How could you say what you did earlier to your fellow member?” Taeyeon said she reached the point where she was thinking of not doing their duet performance the next day. Taeyeon didn’t think she’d be able to do the “Scream!” portion of their duet with Tiffany after what happened, and was thinking of skipping it. Their manager called the two into a room and told them, “I’m thankful that this is the first time you guys are fighting during the entire fourteen concerts you’ve had so far.” After he said this, Taeyeon and Tiffany both started crying, and with their eyes letting out tears and their noses running, they made up.

Girls’ Generation’s Wishes for the Next Year
The MCs asked, “What do you want to do within the next year?” Yuri said she wants to go backpacking while carrying a guitar. Tiffany answered that she wants to do something under Girls’ Generation’s name, such as holding a Girls’ Generation Christmas concert every year. Seohyun said she wants to express her feelings more to people around her, especially her parents.

Seohyun Shows Off Her Guitar Skills by Covering Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now”
Seohyun displayed how far her guitar skills have come since Jung Yonghwa first began teaching her how to play on “We Got Married”. Wielding a pink guitar with an impressive level of skill, Seohyun did a brief cover of Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now”. The video of her cover has been attached below.

If you wish to download the full unsubbed episode of “Big Brothers”, you can do so here. Also, be on the lookout for SoShi Subs to release a pink subbed version in the future.

Hyoyeon Receives Birthday Wishes From Fans

On September 22nd, Girls’ Generation’s fan cafe, “Cistus”, posted an ad in a daily newspaper wishing Hyoyeon a happy birthday.
Along with the advertisement gift, “Cistus” members did volunteer work for Hyoyeon’s birthday at a senior welfare center located in Incheon on August 27th, and donated Happy Beans to a children’s foundation under Hyoyeon’s name. (Editor’s note: Happy Beans are a charity item within Naver. People who make lots of blog/cafe posts, comments, and email replies are given Happy Beans. They are worth a few hundred won, and can be donated to various charities and foundations.)
The volunteer team leader of “Cistus”, Kim Jihoon, stated, “For Girls’ Generation’s 4th anniversary, a Taiwanese fansite sent us donations. After having it pushed down the line, we finally put it together with the volunteer work for ‘HyoTanJeol’.”
“HyoTanJeol” stands for “the day Hyoyeon was born”, and is what fans called her birthday.

The Pure-Hearted Choding Dancing Queen: A Portrait of Kim Hyoyeon for Her 22nd (23rd) Birthday

The Girls’ Generation members, as diverse as they are, all have a little something to teach when it comes to positive personality traits. Take for example Taeyeon, with her huge sense of responsibility, or Tiffany, who exemplifies inner strength. Then there’s the compassionate Sooyoung, or the disciplined Seohyun – even the Jessica with her chic and lazy character can be attributed as having a professional and patient attitude.
And today is Hyoyeon’s special day, ergo, who are we here to talk about? No prizes for guessing.
On this day, 22 years ago, Kim-Umma and Kim-Appa brought into the world a little ball of joy that would grow up to be many great things: a renowned dancer, an international pop sensation, a Korean ambassador, and most importantly of all – a tremendous dork.

“For a trip, my family stopped at every rest stop once. We really did. My family just stopped by all the rest stops. It was a totally good experience for me.” - Hyoyeon

From her tender elementary school years, lil’ Hyo was already throwing herself into hip-hop, jazz, and Latin dance, all the while maintaining her high-profile status as queen bee, having her own little fanclub of admirers. Upon entering SM Entertainment, Hyoyeon popped and locked (and “mango tangoed”) her way into the spotlight, becoming a favourite among male trainees and trainee-fans alike.

“I did aerobics for five years as well. Aerobics, jazz, ballet, cha-cha-cha, jive, mango tango…I’m really good at mango tango.” - Hyoyeon

She even landed herself a position as the middle child in SM’s huge girl group project, and despite low initial expectations from the public, they have since become one of Asia’s most successful groups. Here, there, everywhere, Girls’ Generation – representing girl power across Asia. And where does that leave Hyoyeon in this equation?

“I had a goal to stand on a stage by myself…two years later, I was not a substitute behind a screen, but a performer.” - Hyoyeon

Let’s be honest; in the fandom Hyoyeon can sometimes be overlooked, underrated, or just outright ignored, and a lot of the time she tends to draw the short end of the stick – smallest amount of photos in a pictorial, shortest amount of screen-time in a CF or program, least amount of lines on an album. It’s unfair, but unfortunately normal when it comes to groups.
But, it’s in the light of this adversity that Hyoyeon’s best points begin to shine!
When you’re left out or overlooked, doesn’t it leave you feeling underappreciated or upset? Well, that ain’t Hyo.
Nothing can get Hyoyeon down – that adorable dork is forever enjoying life. Whether she is dancing, singing, eating, playing, or just bumming around, Hyoyeon exudes energy and merriment. From that quirky sense of humour shown on Hello Baby, the gleeful look of excitement as she wins first place on Dream Team, the extra oomph she puts into every move while performing or those ridiculously random but hilariously witty comments she throws out on radio shows; Hyoyeon is possibly one of the weirdest and funniest girls out there.

“I believe that, next to Seohyun, Hyoyeon has the purest heart in Girls’ Generation.” - Yoona

Critics? Haters? Antis? Hyoyeon doesn’t even give a HOOT. Everything she does, she does at 100% with a genuine smile on her face, and how can you not love her for that?

“She is a good listener, and a really good friend.” - Sooyoung

Since the beginning there’s been discussion on the topic “Does Hyoyeon really belong in a group like Girls’ Generation?”  And while it’s true that from her dance style to her personality she isn’t all bubble-gum-pop, and that Hyoyeon has had to sacrifice opportunities to really challenge herself as a dancer within the group, at the end of the day Hyoyeon loves Girls’ Generation and being a part of it. Whether she’s getting a small reaction from the crowd or a massive roar from an entire stadium (Paris is Hyoyeon’s city!), the girl will do her best, bow just as deeply and wave and smile as she exits the stage all the same.

“I wouldn’t feel embarassed about being a Girls’ Generation member. For me, I think I would feel proud thinking ‘I was in Girls’ Generation’. These days too I always think, when I have kids, I’ll show them my videos proudly and say, ‘This was your mom! The person with her bangs waving around prettily, that’s your mom!’” - Hyoyeon

So what do we have to learn from Hyoyeon?
From her pink leggings to that randomly curly fringe, Hyo Choding is all about enjoying every moment of your life at full throttle – making the best of what you’ve got and not letting anything get you down. Resilience! Optimism! Confidence!
So whether you’re one of Hyoyeon’s hilarious Hyohunnies, or a Taeganger, GorJess Spazzer, Sunshiner, Fanytastic, Yurisistable, Sooyoungster, Yoonaddict or Seomate, let us all remember this: Hyoyeon is an amazing, charismatic dancer, but she’s so much more that just Hyoyeonce.  Pay attention and you will see an honest and adorable little weirdo with a fierce and fun attitude that is just wonderfully infectious.
Kim Hyoyeon, happy birthday!
