Girls’ Generation to Perform at ‘Dream KPOP Fantasy Concert’ in the Philippines

Further details regarding the “Dream KPOP Fantasy Concert” have been released. The concert will be held at the SM Mall of Asia in Manila, Philippines on January 19, 2013. Along with Girls’ Generation, performers include EXO, INFINITE, U-Kiss, TASTY, and TAHITI as part of the artist lineup.
Tickets will go on sale on October 15th and can be purchased via SM TicketsTicketNet, andTicketWorld. VIP Standing and VIP Diamond tickets can be purchased at 11,370 PHP, Platinum at 9,310 PHP, Gold at 6,210 PHP, Silver at 3,110 PHP, and Bronze at 1,040 PHP. The SM Megamall Event Center will be holding a ticket pre-sell on October 14th from 1-5 PM PHT.

Korean Media Holdings, one of Korea’s largest media content providers, and Gangnam dance academy DM School are collaborating on a multi-act event called “K-POP Fantasy Concert”, and DM School has confirmed that Girls’ Generation will be performing in the concert.
The “K-POP Fantasy Concert” will be held on January 19th, 2013 in Manila, Philippines. While the artist list is still being finalized, INFINITE and U-Kiss have also been confirmed for the event.
“K-POP Fantasy Concert” is a push by KMH to expand its operations overseas in light of K-Pop’s growing popularity in Southeast Asia. KMH is hoping that this event could spearhead future concerts or tours in this region.
This concert also marks the first time Girls’ Generation will be making an appearance in the Philippines and comes at a time when SM Entertainment is continuing to promote in Southeast Asia with events like SMTOWN in Jakarta and Singapore.

‘Oh!’ and ‘Girls’ Generation Complete Video Collection’ Certified ‘Gold’ by RIAJ



Girls’ Generation’s fifth Japanese single, “Oh!”, and “Girls’ Generation Complete Video Collection” have been certified “Gold” by the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
Both “Oh!” and the “Girls’ Generation Complete Video Collection” DVD set have sold more than 100,000 copies each, earning the “Gold” certification by RIAJ. The accomplishment comes only two weeks after the single and DVD were released on September 26th, adding to the growing list of accolades Girls’ Generation has received in Japan.
Girls’ Generation will look to continue the success with their next Japanese single, “FLOWER POWER“, releasing on November 14th, and their second Japanese album on November 28th.

New Promotional Videos for “I AM” Released

 

 


SM Entertainment and the production company for “I AM” have recently released several new promotional videos in preparation for the upcoming release of the documentary in Korea. The first video shows Jessica, Hyoyeon, and Sooyoung among other their fellow labelmates, including BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, SHINee, and f(x). The second video features only Jessica, Hyoyeon, and Sooyoung, while the third video features Taeyeon, who asks, “Um, can I say this honestly?” to which the interviewer replies, “Yes, you can. You can also answer this as Kim Taeyeon.”

OBS’s “Unique Entertainment News” recently talked about star siblings, highlighting Jessica and Sooyoung with their sisters, Krystal from f(x), and singer Choi Soojin. In the video, Soojin takes part in a short interview in which she mentions Sooyoung, saying, “Whenever there are shortcomings and I start reflecting on myself, or when I go through gloomy days, Sooyoung will always tell me that I have my own talents and that I should have more confidence.”

Girls’ Generation – TTS recently attended a fanmeet to have a chat with their fans as well as to answer several questions that touched on subjects ranging from their driving abilities to their sleep-talking. During the fanmeet, the girls talked about their recent “Twinkle” promotions, with Taeyeon detailing how she has become more calm and composed. The girls also asked a few questions to their fans, like what they wanted to see in a fanmeet and which which music show they liked the most. A cake and congratulatory song from SONEs were presented to the girls during their conversation. Taeyeon Voted as the Number One College Hoobae by College Students


In a recent poll of male college students, Taeyeon was voted first place as the idol students most wanted to have as their hoobae, or junior. She received 34.1% of the votes. Her victory was due to her explosive vocals and her cute and dorky image. In addition, Seohyun placed third with 17.8% of the vote thanks to her booksmart image and sincere and dedicated attitude.
Taeyeon and Jessica Reply to UFO Messages
Taeyeon and Jessica recently replied to several UFO messages from their fans. Taeyeon showed off her humorous side, sharing witty replies as her fans made various comments on topics such as the weather, movies, shaved ice, and more. In addition, Jessica answered questions about her cooking, replying to one message that she really can cook well, followed by a crying expression. Girls’ Generation’s new upcoming Japanese single, “PAPARAZZI”, recently ranked first place on Tower Records’s “Japan Online” daily pre-order chart, showing that fans are responding well as the group is expected to release the song on June 27th. f(x), Girls’ Generation’s labelmates from SM Entertainment, also placed highly on the chart with their mini-album, “Electric Shock”, ranking at second place.
Soccer Player Jong Taese Receives a Hand-Written Message from Yuri
Jong Taese, who plays soccer for North Korea, recently appeared on SBS’s “Healing Camp”. To commemorate his upcoming marriage, the MCs of the show presented him with lovebirds and a hand-written support message from Yuri as gifts. The message from Yuri read, “Taese oppa, I’m watching your great games well. Girl Yuri is cheering you on.” After receiving the gifts, Jong Taese said, “I like the hand-written message from Yuri more than the lovebirds. I can’t stop smiling.”

“Gee” Ranks on Chart of Most Played Songs at Japanese Karaoke Parlors
In a chart listing the songs most selected in Japanese Karaoke parlors, Girls’ Generation “Gee” was listed at #23, making it the only Korean entry on the chart. Girls’ Generation’s “Oh!”, “Gee”, and “The Boys” were also among the top ten Korean songs sung.

On June 15th, Yoona attended a baseball game between the Doosan Bears and the Samsung Lions. She appeared to be relaxed and enjoyed herself during the game. The photo was taken during a break in the filming for “Love Rain”, and Yoona writes that she began drinking coffee during the recordings in order to not feel sleepy. After attending a recording of “Dancing with the Stars II”, Jessica wrote a message and posted several photos of herself with Hyoyeon. On the same day that the music video for Girls’ Generation’s “PAPARAZZI” was released, a fan uploaded a dance cover of the song to YouTube, saying that he learnt all the dance steps in two hours. Despite the little time he had to practice, he captured the choreography of the song with impressive accuracy and delivered a charismatic performance that definitely earned him some praise and respect.
