Girls' Generation has topped the K-pop charts in Japan!
Japan's largest record charts, Tokyo Records, announced the results for "June's K-pop chart" on July 6. Girls' Generation easily topped the charts with their first Japanese album, "Girls' Generation", which was released on June 1.
Girls' Generation's first Japanese album contains their Japan debut track "Genie", "Run Devil Run", original Japanese song "Mr. Taxi", along with other songs, totaling up to 12 tracks. A lot of people pre-ordered this album, placing it third in Japan monthly charts. According to the Oricon charts, as much as 232,000 copies of the album were sold within the first week of the release on June 1. The sales continue to rise, and they have sold 325,658 copies so far, placing the album in the top ten best-selling albums for the first half of the year.
Meanwhile, the girls are will perform for their Arena Tour tonight in Nagoya.
